Getting started
What is Subera?
Subera is a mobile app for creators that writes captions for your videos and audio in 100+ languages, translates them into 100+ languages, burns styled captions into your video and includes a voice-following teleprompter with an AI script assistant.
Which devices does Subera work on?
Subera is available for Android on Google Play and for iPhone on the App Store. Subera 4.0, with everything described on this site, is on Android now; version 4.0 for iPhone is coming soon. Stay tuned!
Do I need an account?
No. You can open the app and caption your first video as a guest. Create an account (email, Google or Apple) whenever you like; everything you made as a guest stays with you.
Who is Subera for?
Creators making Reels, Shorts and YouTube videos, podcasters, teachers, marketers and anyone who needs accurate subtitles or transcripts from their phone.
Captions and languages
Which languages can Subera caption?
100+ spoken languages, including English, Hindi, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Urdu, Indonesian, French, German, Japanese and Korean.
Can Subera caption speech that mixes English with another language?
Yes. Pick the main spoken language and, for languages with their own script (such as Hindi, Arabic, Japanese or Russian), choose a caption style: as spoken, all in that language’s letters, or all in English letters like chat.
Does Subera work with songs or videos with loud background music?
Subera always tries its best, but accuracy drops when music or noise competes with the voice. Songs, music videos and clips with loud background music may get missed or misheard words, so check those captions before you share. For the best results, use clear speech and pick the right spoken language.
How long can my video be?
It depends on your plan: Creator covers videos up to 5 minutes, Pro covers videos up to 60 minutes.
Can I edit the captions?
Yes. Fix words, retime captions on a timeline, review line by line and find and replace names across every caption. Every change can be undone.
Which subtitle formats can I export?
SRT, VTT, SBV, TTML/DFXP and plain-text TXT, or a video with the captions burned in.
Plans and billing
How much does Subera cost?
Subera is free to download. To caption, pick one of two low-cost subscriptions: Creator (weekly, monthly or yearly) or Pro (monthly or yearly). Prices are shown in the app in your local currency, and you can cancel anytime.
Which plan should I choose?
Pick the plan that matches the videos you make: • Creator: caption every video you make, up to 5 minutes each. Made for Reels, Shorts and TikTok. • Pro: 12 hours of captions a month, for videos up to 60 minutes each. Made for podcasts, interviews and lectures. Every plan includes every feature: all languages, styles, fonts, translation, the editor, export and the teleprompter.
Is there a limit on how many videos I can caption? (Fair use policy)
Creator has no monthly allowance to count: it is made for people who caption their own videos, so caption the videos you genuinely make, within the plan’s video length. Pro includes 12 hours every month. To keep Subera fast and affordable for everyone, a fair use policy applies to every plan: • one subscription is for one person, used on one device at a time • no sharing an account between several people or teams • no reselling captions or running a captioning service for others • no automated or bulk processing, such as scripts or batch uploads • no captioning other people’s content at scale If an account’s usage is far beyond normal personal use, we may contact you, and we may limit or pause processing for that account. Subera reserves the right to suspend or terminate a subscription or account in cases of abuse or fraud, as set out in our Terms. Making long videos or a lot of hours? Pro is the right fit.
What happens if I use all of Pro’s 12 hours?
Your hours renew at the start of your next billing month. Unused hours do not roll over.
How do I move my subscription to a new phone?
A subscription is used on one device at a time. On your new phone, sign in with the same account (and the same Google Play or Apple account), open Me and tap Restore purchase.
I bought minutes (credits) before. Do they still work?
Yes. Minutes you already bought stay on your account and keep working.
Cancel or manage a subscription
How do I cancel my Subera subscription?
Subscriptions are billed by Google Play or Apple, so you cancel them in the store. It takes less than a minute. On Android (Google Play): 1. Open the Google Play Store app. 2. Tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. 3. Choose Subera and tap Cancel subscription. On iPhone or iPad: 1. Open Settings and tap your name. 2. Tap Subscriptions. 3. Choose Subera and tap Cancel Subscription. Shortcut: in Subera, open Me, tap your plan, then Manage subscription to jump straight to the right page.
What happens after I cancel?
Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that it stops renewing and you are not charged again.
Does deleting the app or my account cancel my subscription?
No. Uninstalling Subera or deleting your account does not stop a store subscription. Cancel it in Google Play or the App Store first, as described above.
Can I get a refund?
Payments are processed by Google Play and Apple, so refunds follow their policies. On Android, request one from your Google Play order history; on iPhone, use reportaproblem.apple.com. If something went wrong with Subera itself, email [email protected] and we will help.
Can I change my plan?
Yes. Open the Plans screen in the app and pick another plan; the store handles the switch. You can also cancel anytime and subscribe again later.
Privacy and support
Are my videos uploaded?
Your video stays on your phone. To write captions, Subera sends only the audio track to its servers, and burned-in videos are rendered on your device.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Open Me, then Account, then Delete account, or email [email protected]. Cancel any subscription in Google Play or the App Store first. The full steps, and what is deleted and kept, are on subera.io/delete-account.
How do I get help?
Open Help & support in the app to send a request with screenshots and follow the replies, or email [email protected].
