Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Subera account and the data linked to it. It applies to the Subera app on Google Play and the App Store, and to your account on subera.io.

Delete your account in the app

  • Open the Subera app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
  • Tap Me at the bottom of the screen, then tap Account.
  • Tap Delete account and confirm. You are signed out and your account is closed straight away.

Can't open the app?

Email [email protected] from the email address you use with Subera, with the subject "Delete my account". We may ask you to confirm the request so that nobody else can delete your account. We delete it within 30 days and reply to let you know.

Before you delete

  • Cancel your subscription first. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google Play or the App Store. Cancel it in Google Play (Payments and subscriptions) or in your Apple ID settings, so you are not charged again.
  • Export anything you want to keep. Captions, subtitle files and videos you have not exported cannot be recovered after your account is deleted.

What is deleted

Everything below is deleted within 30 days of your request, including from our backups.

  • Your profile: name, email address, profile photo and sign-in details.
  • Your projects, captions, translations and scripts stored on our servers.
  • The audio sent to our servers to write your captions.
  • Your support requests and the messages in them.
  • The device and notification identifiers linked to your account.
  • Remaining minutes, credits and add-ons on the account.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Purchase and payment records (what was bought, when and for how much) are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require, which is up to 8 years. They are kept only for that purpose.
  • Google Play and the App Store keep their own records of your purchases, under their own policies.
  • Usage statistics that are aggregated and cannot identify you may be kept.

Files on your phone

Videos, exports and projects saved on your phone are not on our servers. They stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.
